Madonna, Shaika, BTS, & The Muppets Confirmed for 2026 World Cup Halftime Show
The FIFA World Cup Halftime Show will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at New York / New Jersey Stadium.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is getting the Super Bowl treatment. For the first time in its history, the soccer championship event will feature a halftime show co-headlined with performances by pop icon Madonna, Latin music star Shaika, and K-pop group BTS.
The Halftime Show will also feature characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets, including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who is curating the event, caught up with characters for the official announcement. Check out the video, featuring Elmo and Cookie Monster.
The news comes as Madonna prepares for the release of her new album, Confessions II, set to arrive on July 3rd. It marks her first in seven years and serves as a follow-up to the 2005 counterpart, Confessions on a Dance Floor. Meanwhile, Shaikra has partnered with Burna Boy for the official World Cup song, "Dai Dai."
In a partnership with Global Citizen, the Halftime Show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative working to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football for children around the world. $1 from every ticket sold throughout the tournament will be donated to the Fund.
The FIFA World Cup Halftime Show will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at New York / New Jersey Stadium in New Jersey during the Final, which will start at 3 p.m. ET. The monthlong tournament will kick off on June 11 and feature games across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
