LES BRERS Announce Additional Fall Dates; ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Alumni Touring Northeast

LES BRERS--the group comprised of key ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND members and associates--has announced a new string of fall concerts. They have only performed a handful of dates in 2016 so far--including a thunderous set at this past weekend's PEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL--and are excited to get back on the road.

The pedigreed group (the name is inspired by the ABB instrumental jam "Les Brers in A-Minor" from the Eat A Peach album) consists of founding ABB drummersBUTCH TRUCKS and JAIMOE, longtime members OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (percussion), former ABB guitarist JACK PEARSON,frequent ABB guest BRUCE KATZ on keyboards, singer LAMAR WILLIAMS JR. (son of the former ABB bassist) joined by guitarist PAT BERGESON (Chet Atkins, Lyle Lovett, Suzy Bogguss).

The tour begins September 7 in Connecticut and includes an October 12 stop atNYC's Brooklyn Bowl (full itinerary below). At their August 11 show at the Peach Fest in northeast Pennsylvania, the band members teamed up with String Cheese Incident for a set of music dubbed "Allman Brothers Family Incident," which Rolling Stone described as "epic" and said, "The highlight, however, was a spirited run-through of 'Ain't Wastin' Time No More.' With SCI's Nershi on vocals, and Trucks, Burbridge, Katz and Pearson sitting in, it was an especially poignant moment. Pearson took off on a sultry Southern blues-solo that would have made Duane Allman smile, building to a climax of high-fret slide work before taking a turn back toward laid-back grooviness." Of LES BRERS' set, the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader said they "dished out original southern blues rock before ending their set with epic versions of Allman Brothers tunes 'In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed' and rallying cry for the down and out 'Whipping Post.'"

In an April interview with Billboard Magazine's Gary Graff, Butch Trucks said, "Nobody is playing music like this, like the Allman Brothers, and there's still a lot of fans out there, so that's what we're doing with Les Brers. We're taking this stuff and getting loose with it and improvising and really having a good time. And I think once the word gets around there's still a lot of people out there that want to hear this kind of music -- and whether there is or not, we're having a ball playing it, so if we can draw a big crowd that's great, but if we don't we're still gonna play it."

The band will perform an eclectic selection of music familiar to fans of the Allman Brothers Band, whose unique improvisational style, great songwriting and heavy touring made them one of the most acclaimed bands in American rock history. They are members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (plus various other Grammy's) and many Gold and Platinumrecords.
