The North/South Chamber Orchestra will open its 46th season with a free concert on November 3, honoring the 400th anniversary of Fort Amsterdam, the site that led to the founding of New York City. The program features works by distinguished New York composers, including Christopher James, Max Lifchitz, Alexandro Rodríguez, and Andrew Thomas. Highlights include Lifchitz's "Yellow Ribbons No. 40," a tribute to artistic freedoms, and Rodríguez's new composition, "New York."
