FaceSpace, written by Talia Gonzales & Bisanne Massoud, will be part of the 2009 Midtown International Theatre Festival. The show, produced by Lucky Penny Productions, in Association with The 7th Sign Theatre Productions, will open on Saturday, July 18th & run for six performances at the MainStage Theatre, 312 West 36th Street. This Premiere Production will be directed by Daniel Winerman. Lighting Design is by Jana Mattioli.

Company founder Paul Casali will star as Petruchio, and Lance Windish (formerly of Cirque du Soleil) will be featured as his manservant Grumio. This production proudly introduces Anna Lewis as the fiery hellion Kate, also starring company member Maria Alegre as her sultry younger sister Bianca. Mr. Halpern is using techniques combined from the work of Anne Bogart and Jerzy Grotowski to create a radically new ensemble-based approach to this legendary romantic work of theatre.

Lorin Maazel was honored last night by The City of New York and by the New York Philharmonic at the first of his final series of concerts with the Orchestra as Music Director. The French-born American conductor, who first led the Philharmonic at the age of 12, received a Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor designating June 24, 2009, as 'Maestro Lorin Maazel Day.'
