- October 16, 2016 The University at Albany's Department of Music and Theatre is pleased to present faculty member Max Lifchitz performing Modest Mussorgsky's ever-popular Pictures at an Exhibition on Monday, October 24 at 7pm at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus. The program will also feature a few of Lifchitz's own compositions including the recent Piano Silhouettes which are a collection of “reaction pieces” to five of Elisabeth Condon's paintings. Images of the paintings by Viktor Hartmann that inspired Mussorgsky as well as Ms. Condon's works that provided the needed impetus for Lifchitz will accompany the performance.
