Australia's leading voice in the cultural landscape of classical music, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Foxtel Arts as Media Partner and a renewal partnership with KPMG as Avi Avital Series Partner.

Founded by Artistic Director Paul Dyer with Managing Director Bruce Applebaum in 1989, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra has collaborated with some of the world's leading talents, and performed more than 1,000 concerts nationwide, playing music by well-known masters like Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart mixed with lesser known but equally as fascinating composers such as Zeleneka, Corette and Merula. The orchestra grows, innovates, challenges and inspires both audience and performer alike, thriving on the support of its partnerships.

Foxtel's dedicated arts channel Foxtel Arts will deliver locally-produced orchestral content made for Foxtel in high-definition as part of its commitment to bringing the best in Australian fine music performance to Australian screens.

Our first broadcast collaboration is a live recording of Avi Avital's Australian debut in 2014. He takes the mandolin to places it's never before been, thrilling audiences with everything from Bach to Bartok.

The second broadcast collaboration is 2016's Noël! Noël! concert, filled with irresistible choral melodies, much loved carols, rousing sixteenth century hymns, and other rare musical delights from around the world. Showcasing the wonder and surprise of Christmas it has been a favourite feature of previous Brandenburg seasons and, in 2016, it will be recorded at St Francis of Assisi's Catholic Church and broadcast Christmas Eve on Foxtel Arts.

"As Foxtel Arts extends its broadcast and promotional relationships with Australia's leading orchestras we are very happy indeed to add Brandenburg concerts to the offering of fine music already enjoyed by our subscribers. The unique blending of this orchestra's commitment to the baroque with frequent visits to some more recent repertoire - all presented with its trademark flare for showmanship - will be a treat for our audience. The broadcast partnership with the Brandenburg is an association of which the channel is most proud," Group Channel Manager, Foxtel Arts & Music Channels Fraser Stark said.

KPMG have been a loyal partner of the Brandenburg since 2013. Their partnership will support the blockbuster Avi Avital concert series that tours Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in 2016.

"KPMG are proud to continue our partnership with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Their innovation, passion and dedication is something we also aspire to in our business. It is our privilege to support the upcoming concert series with mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital," said KPMG Chief Executive Officer Gary Wingrove.

On the news of both partnerships, Brandenburg Artistic Director Paul Dyer said:

"I am thrilled that we are joining Foxtel Arts as a broadcast partner. This collaboration will allow us to share our live concerts with audiences throughout Australia and celebrate our shared commitment to musical excellence. It is a great honour to have the support of our long-time partner KPMG as Avi Avital's Series Partner, helping us bring this phenomenal performer to our audiences."
