- February 01, 2019 The 96th season of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) will continue on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with “Level Up — Beethoven, Andrew Norman, and Video Games,” the third program in this season's series of YPCs, Music Across Borders. Conducted by Edwin Outwater, hosted by The Marie-Josée Kravis Creative Partner Nadia Sirota, and directed by Habib Azar, the program will explore how writing music is like playing a video game — specifically, how the development section of a piece is like creating your own story in a video game.

- January 31, 2019 The New York Philharmonic announces the first broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week to feature performances from Jaap van Zweden's inaugural season as Music Director. Highlights include the World Premiere of Conrad Tao's Everything Must Go; Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7, Leningrad; Beethoven's Symphony No. 7; and Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem, featuring The Mary and James G. - January 25, 2019 The Presser Foundation is pleased to sponsor the February 17, 2019 Philadelphia Youth Orchestra (PYO) Concert being held in Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Beginning at 3 p.m., the concert celebrates the legacy of Michael Stairs, the renowned organist who has performed worldwide and made such a major impact in the Philadelphia area. Michael Stairs offered his musical contributions to PYO and last performed the Strauss and Saint-Saens selections in 2014 at the PYO 75th Anniversary concert being repeated at this PYO concert. The February 2019 concert features the extraordinary talent of two special guests - David Kim, Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Peter Richard Conte, renowned organist. - January 24, 2019 On February 4th, Sons of Serendip will compete on “America's Got Talent: The Champions”, the franchise that catapulted the band to world-wide notoriety in 2014 as 'America's Got Talent' finalists and fan favorites. The genre-defying group will also kick off a 2019 tour and release a new original single, “Love You Still”, on February 14th. The tour - which began with a packed house at Joe's Pub in NYC this month - is followed by over 40 U.S. concerts from coast to coast, through May (see dates below). This month the group also begins a residency with Boston area students in a series of performances and master classes based on themes from Angie Thomas' The Hate U Give.

- January 22, 2019 After nine rigorous, yet creative days packed with orchestra and chamber music rehearsals, masterclasses, workshops, and more, the third annual Youth Music Culture Guangdong (YMCG) drew to a victorious close on January 19 with a six-hour marathon concert 'From Brahms and Sibelius to the Unexpected.' The young musicians performed original arrangements and 16 chamber and symphonic works culminating in Brahms's Concerto for Violin and Cello in A minor with YMCG Artistic Director Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Johnny Gandelsman in the spotlight and Sibelius's illustrious Symphony No. 5 in E-flat Major, both under the baton of YMCG Music Director Michael Stern.
