Colorado writer Margaret Mizushima continues to earn accolades and awards for her mystery novel, Burning Ridge. Recently awarded the Silver Medal for the coveted Benjamin Franklin Award (Fiction: Mystery/Suspense Category), Mizushima is also among finalists for the Colorado Book Award (Mystery Category) for Burning Ridge. In addition, Mizushima has been named among nominees for the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers' Writer of the Year.

Hachette Audio is proud to announce that it is publishing Alphie McCourt's posthumous final collection, THE SOULSWIMMER, in April 2019, as an audiobook read by NYC-based performer Joe Hurley and others. Alphie McCourt, the youngest of the literary McCourt family first made famous through his brother Frank's Pulitzer Prize-winning Angela's Ashes, had a fruitful relationship with Hachette Audio in the latter years of his life, as he reflected on stories that spanned experience from Ireland to the US.

Drawing inspiration from the real-life enigmatic boxer Elizabeth Wilkinson who challenged opponents by posting adverts in London newspapers in the early 1700s, this fictitious story follows 'the Championess of Europe' as she fights to gain notoriety in the male-dominated sport of bare-knuckle boxing, as well as struggles with her own racial identity. The National Society of Arts and Letters Florida East Coast Chapter (www.nsalfloridaeast.org) has announced that two Dreyfoos School of the Arts students secured Winston Scholarships through the NSAL program. The local chapter of NSAL selected Kathryn Dennison and Laura Santamaria Mendez to compete nationally for the Winston scholarships in 2-D Visual Arts and Voice respectively. Both students will be honored at the NSAL Star Maker Awards on April 28, 2019 at Boca West Country Club with the nonprofit organization's other scholarship and competition winners.
