Tobacco Road at The Compass Performing Arts Factory

American Repertory Theater of WNY presents Jack Kirkland's stage adaptation of Erskine Caldwell's novel Tobacco Road, one of the longest-running plays in Broadway history. Set in a rural Georgia farm county, the story follows the impoverished Jeeter family as they struggle against a legacy of depleted land and generational poverty. The cast includes Robert Insana as Jeeter Lester, Kaylie Horowitz as Ada Jeeter, Danette Pawlowski as Sister Bessie, Andrew Brown as Dude Jeeter, Emily C McDonnell and Sadie Everhard as the Jeeter sisters, Mark Tramont as Captain Tim, Ian F. LaLonde as Banker/Peabody, and Margo Davis as Grandma Jeeter. Directed by Matthew LaChiusa.
