The stage is set, the tenor is missing, and the laughs are guaranteed as Aurora Players presents the Tony Award-winning farce, Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me A Tenor, running for three weekends beginning this Friday until June 22, 2025. Set in 1934, Lend Me A Tenor follows the chaos that erupts when a world-famous opera star, Tito Merrelli, known as “Il Stupendo,” goes missing just hours before his much-anticipated performance of the Italian opera, Pagliacci. With a frantic theater manager, a panicked assistant-turned-understudy, romantic entanglements, and two Pagliacci (meaning “clowns” in Italian) on the loose, the result is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, slamming doors, and sidesplitting confusion. If you like to laugh, this is one you won't want to miss. Recommended for audiences 13 and up. Total running time: 2.25 hours.
Aurora Players is at 166 South Grove St., East Aurora, NY.
