Geva Theatre Co. to Open 41st Season with PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, 9/10-10/13

Geva Theatre Center invites Rochester to join in the down-home country fun of Pump Boys and Dinetteswith book, lyrics and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann and directed byMark Cuddy, with choreography by Peggy Hickey and musical direction by Nathan Dame. Pump Boys and Dinettes begins performances on September 10 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Mainstage through October 13.
MusicalFare Theatre to Present LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, 9/4-10/13

The performance schedule is September 4th - October 13th at MusicalFare Theatre, Wednesdays at 7:00pm, Thursdays at 7:00pm, Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 4:00pm and 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. There will be a special 'half-price preview' on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00pm. Meet-the-cast talkbacks take place after all Wednesday performances EXCEPT opening night, September 4th.

MusicalFare Theatre Begins Construction on THE NEXT STAGE Expansion

On Thursday, July 18th, demolition and construction began for MusicalFare Theatre's THE NEXT STAGE million-dollar lounge/cabaret expansion. Crews began removing the concrete plaza in front of the building with excavation and construction beginning immediately, thereafter.

Dubbed the season of 'ART Inside the Box', the company has moved from Bittner Hall into the basement of 16 Linwood location and has converted it into a black box theater performance space. ART/WNY decision to move from Bittner Hall into this space allows the company more flexibility with productions scheduled for the 2013-14 season as well as allows ART/WNY more of a permenent presences in the space. 'We can build, create and light environments without the overhanging pressure to tear it down and reset the whole thing, from platforms to light grid, for each production.' Added Executive/Artistic Director Matthew LaChiusa. 'That's going to add to the production values of each piece as well as make it more of a engaging experience for patrons.'
