Following successful performances in England and Russia, Bad Neighbour Theatre will present its debut production in New York of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure from November 14-19, 2016 at St Paul's Church Hall in Williamsburg.

A cast of five will bend their shapes to the twenty-odd characters of Shakespeare's text. This means that some characters will be constructed from puppets, some from twisted limbs, some pulled out of thin air. Director, Charlotte Day hopes that Shakespeare's poetry and its rhythms will be able to coexist with sweat, muscle and a healthy measure of anarchy. If not peacefully, then at least interestingly.

Though listed in the First Folio as a comedy, Measure for Measure is one of Shakespeare's darkest plays; deeply fascinated with death, with the breaking points of justice and morality, with the point at which laughter no longer redeems.

Cast includes - Artem Kreimer, Hugo Lau, Ariel Marcus, Miranda McCauley and Benjamin Peterson.

Bad Neighbour Theatre is an experimental theatre company based in New York. It makes work in English and Russian, drawing from classical and contemporary stimuli.
