Sean K. Ellis, subject of Netflix's documentary Trial 4, narrates Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait after being wrongly convicted and jailed for 21 years before winning his freedom. The concert opens with Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man and includes excerpts from William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony, the first symphony by a Black American composer performed by a major American orchestra. Beethoven's Seventh Symphony concludes the evening. Kristo Kondakçi conducts.
