TMC Conducting Fellows Julian Gilewski and Lauren Smith made their Tanglewood debuts leading the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. Gilewski led Ives' Variations on America and Smith conducted Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. The concert concluded with an unconducted performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, Pastoral, with ten BSO musicians joining.
