Boston Ballet School presents Next Generation, a one-night-only performance at the Citizens Opera House on May 13, 2026, featuring dancers from Boston Ballet II, the Donna Egan Graduate Program, and the Professional Division at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. The program spans classical and contemporary works, including George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco, August Bournonville's Napoli excerpts and Flower Festival in Genzano Pas de Deux, and Cordyceps by Boston Ballet II dancer Alexander Mockrish. The evening also features world premieres by Boston Ballet Second Soloist Daniel Rubin, whose new work is set to a live orchestral score by New England Conservatory student Aviva Senzon, and choreographer Jodie Gates, whose ballet is a co-commission with Finnish National Ballet's Youth Company. The performance is directed by Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen and Associate Director of Boston Ballet II Joan Boada.
