2026 Tony Nominee for Best Play! They’re family. That doesn’t make it easy.
On the outskirts of a small Idaho town, an aunt and nephew who barely know each other find themselves sharing a house after a sudden loss. She’s blunt, guarded, and set in her routines. He’s grieving, adrift, and not sure why he came back. As they sort through a lifetime of things left behind, conversation comes slowly. Then all at once. What emerges isn’t resolution but it’s real and it’s what they need.
Little Bear Ridge Road is a spare, quietly funny play about grief, distance, and the uneasy work of letting another person in.
SpeakEasy Stage Company announced its 2026/27 season, featuring three mainstage productions at Boston's Calderwood Pavilion, including the World Premiere musical BY ANY OTHER NAME and Tony-nominated LITTLE BEAR RIDGE ROAD, plus new programming initiatives.
