Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, is set in 1962 Baltimore and follows lovable plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad, played by Grace Carroll, as she pursues her dream of dancing on the popular Corny Collins Show and finds herself in a struggle for integration. The production features Alex Michaels (aka Alexis Michelle from RuPaul's Drag Race) as Edna Turnblad, alongside Michael Brian Dunn, Keisha Gilles, Ben Jackson Walker, Maddy Le, Meaghan Maher, Kate Marilley, Maya Musial, Lukas Poost, and Jalen Xavier. The musical features a book by Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell, music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman, and is based on John Waters' iconic film. The production is directed by Bill Fennelly and choreographed by Felicity Stiverson.
