Focusing on the relationships of men with fathers, children, friends, and lovers, playwright Inua Ellams provides an intimate view of a time-honored tradition. An ensemble of twelve populates the stage with 30 characters who give a lively, colorful performance.
Christine Ebersole Makes Broadway at The Huntington Debut

Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole performs at the Huntington Theatre Company for one night only alongside SIRIUS/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky as music director and host on Saturday, January 26 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Performance times are 5pm and 8pm. Produced by Mark Cortale Productions, the performance is the second installment of the new 'Broadway @ the Huntington' series which brings Boston audiences up close and personal with Broadway artists.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler announced the cast of the second production of its 2018-19 Season: Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production runs February 27 through March 10 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

FUN HOME Returns To SpeakEasy This June

Due to unprecedented demand, SpeakEasy Stage will remount its acclaimed production of FUN HOME for four additional weeks, June 8-30, 2019.  Amy Jo Jackson, Ellie van Amerongen, and Marissa Simeqi will return to play the three Alisons in the production, which was SpeakEasy's top-selling show ever and was hailed as "one of the greatest musicals of all time" by the Boston Globe.  Tickets for the added dates are now on sale.
Huntington Theatre Company Presents A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2

The 2017 Tony Award nominee for Best Play and the most-produced play of the 2018-2019 season, A Doll's House, Part 2 makes its Boston debut at the Huntington Theatre Company at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston) in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Written by Tony Award nominee Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters, performances will run January 4 through February 3. The press opening will be Wednesday, January 9 at 7pm.

The Academy of The Company Theatre (A.C.T.) presents the musical theatre sensation A Chorus Line, on Friday, January 25, 7:30 pm, Saturday, January 26, 4 and 7:30 pm, and Sunday, January 27, 3 pm at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. A Chorus Line is conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, with book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban and co-choreographed by Bob Avian. The production is directed by Jordie Saucerman, with music direction by Melissa Carubia and choreography by Sally Forrest.

Odyssey Opera Begins Helen Of Troy Tribute This February

One of the nation's most adventurous opera companies, Odyssey Opera, continues its sixth season with the Boston premiere of Paride ed Elena (1770) written by Christoph Willibald Gluck with a libretto by Ranieri de' Calzabigi. Ushering in the second half of Odyssey Opera's season, this marks the first of three works to be performed in Winter/Spring 2019 inspired by one of the most enigmatic figures in ancient history, Helen of Troy. Paride ed Elena (Paris and Helen) will feature three leading female roles performed by Mireille Asselin (Elena), Meghan Lindsay (Paride), and Erica Schuller (Amor), with orchestra and chorus conducted by Gil Rose, and stage direction by Crystal Manich (Pittsburgh Opera, Utah Opera).  The fully-staged, five-act production will be sung in Italian with English subtitles.
