What did you think of it?

Started off nice enough. The she went nuts and was rather scarey.....maybe Diana is not as big of a stretch as I would have guessed.

It was slightly manic but yet somehow that totally worked given the show she won for and the moment re: Alice Ripley's Speech

I love her. She looked amazing, and I loved the over all message of her speech!

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

It was off the deep end and I loved it. She completely deserved it.

Yeah- I liked the content but she was screaming it. It almost seemed a little fake to me. This is totally unbiased. I have never seen the show and have only heard her sing on The View and the show tonight.

Well, I'm just going to put 2 and 2 together

Her Crazy Speech, Her Youtube freak-outs, her freaky Broadway.com Ask a Star Interview, and her Facebook issues.

This is why she plays a mentally ill person so well.

Ha. Yeah she was a tad intense, but she was hot as hell! Lookin' good Rip! And she was on fire tonight in her performance!

The woman could have stood there and twiddled her thumbs and it would have been awesome. Honestly, I don't care if she was a little wacky during her speech - in my opinion, she was just trying to hold it together after one of the most triumphant moments of her life. I don't blame her for being a little over-exuberant. I thought it was great. She completely deserved to win, and I'm thrilled that she did.

maybe she wanted to avoid more sound issues, so she just shouted.

loved the content, though.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

I think she didn't expect to get emotional so that caught her off guard, and she just got caught up in the moment and got a little...loud lol.

the woman is crazy, as (i'm not sure if you've noticed this yet) most people in theater are (myself included). But she just dominated tonight, it was amazing. Love her to death, and she SO deserved that win tonight.

I thought her speech was completely flat and off-pitch, she was even yelling!! How she won was beyond me.

Did it seem like this year everyone who won sort of expected it, with maybe the exception of Roy Robinson. They all seemed to make comments about how "I've been thanking people all week," etc.

She gave her best two performances at the Kennedy Center (thus her long quotation of the inscription on the wall in the lobby), and it was apparent from her offstage demeanor during those shows that she was ebuilliant and rightfully glowing (her performance as Amy in COMPANY was met with standing ovations and the highlight of a truly remarkable festival filled with highlights)... there is a concert she gave at the time at the KennedyCenter.org website. It's fantastic.

I must say I much preferred her performance tonight than the cast recording or when I saw her months ago.

Good for her. I hope to see her again.

She looked very pretty indeed, but her actions were a little scary.
