"Sir, I finished the Kate Shindle portrait." "You moron! It was supposed to be Sutton Foster!" "Oops." "Ah, whatever. We have to present it in five. It doesn't look that much different." "Will do." "Wait - why is her hair blue?" "I ran out of black paint." "Ugh. You're lucky all the good caricaturists are doin' the bar mitzvah circuit now."

I love it! And all her imperfections, just meant to be characterized, like her right eye is higher than her left. Her hair is brown, but most people get to see her in a wig so who cares about the blue? And her trademark signature (I have so many of them) with the Sutton above the Foster. I'm glad she finally made it in, and can't wait to see it.
I actually really like this one. It looks much more like her than the Dan Radcliffe and Clay Aiken ones, and it does include her eyebrow, the line of her cheeks, and the shape of her nose and teeth, but it still is flattering and doesn't make her look ridiculous!
Obviously, she looks more made-up in the picture than she usually does in real life, but she would have that much eye makeup on when she's onstage, so it looks more like the 'Sutton Foster' that someone might recognize from after seeing her in a show.
In my pants, she has burst like the music of angels, the light of the sun! --Marius Pantsmercy
I'm SORRY . . . it's just BAD!!!! A 2nd grader who was from Kannapolis, NC and never heard of Broadway could do a better job. I'm sure tourists that go into Sardi's and don't know the scoop will think that a local elemtary school was given color sheets to work on.
Taking the suggestions here, I tried to alter the picture to look MORE like Sutton.
I shrunk her lips and made them more subtle. I threw out that terrible blue in her hair & smooched the picture down to make the head resemble Suttons'.
I am happy for Sutton, it was long overdue, as someone who has no artistic talent whatsoever, I think it is blah. I think the blue hair is meant more to be a unique feature to the portrait. I say this because honestly as a fan of hers, I would probably never make the connection without now knowing what it looks like. But who cares what I thinks. I am excited for Sutton!

With all the talent in NYC, you would think they could get a caricature artist that could actually make caricatures to resemble the star! Don't get me wrong, the artist can obviously draw well and and is talented, but it obviously takes some sort of extra skill to capture a person's persona in a cartoon-form, and this artist (along with the artist's who have drawn just about every caricature of Sardi's that I've seen), never seem to do that. It's been a while since I've been to Disney World, so maybe I was just more impressed when I was younger, but the artists always seemed to do an amazing job with caricatures (especially considering they have to do it in front of the person and are on a time-limit!)
Isn't a caricature suppose to exaggerate a feature? They just look like cartoon drawings.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
OK, so it's a caricature, but the off-center eyes (both in the level of the eye sockets and the mismatched focus of the pupils) make it look amateurish.
It would look a lot more like her if you could only see her top row of teeth. When she smiles, you can't see her bottom teeth (obvious from the first picture posted).
TimesSquare- yours is much better, maybe you could do another to alter the teeth? :)
