Are you she wasn't cast as the replacement Elphaba stand-by or for a different production?

If this is true I'm happy for you friend but pissed Julie Reiber got screwed over, yet again.

Best reply EVER!

Maybe she's a standby and doesn't know the difference.

I was really hoping for Chelsea Krombach to be bumped up to stand-by when and if Julie left. But like I stated earlier, I'm happy for her.

Why always a viola? If you're going to fling out musical instrument names instead of French words, why not go for a cello or a bass sometime?

I'm thinking it is to replace Julie. They are giving Nicole the 2 months, they aren't just going to drop herl.

Just to clear it up:

Alyssa has been offered a replacement contract in Wicked for either of the four American productions. Whichever production is up for replacement next, that's where she will go. It could be Broadway. It could be tour. She has not been notified of this.

I would assume that Nicole Parker will still be playing the role.

I was going to say - Donna was just promoted to full-time Elphaba on the tour recently, so I don't surmise she's leaving any time soon.

mywonderwa11, do I know you? Haha.

I'd been hearing she's a standby. I couldn't be more excited for her, either way.

Oh and on the Spark of Creation video, under Related Videos, does that second girl look like Tila Tequila to anyone else? She doesn't when you watch it but when the image is really small I was like WTF

Yes, Alyssa has been cast as Elphaba(as per her facebook, as well as a conversation). As mentioned above, she will be taking over the role(Full time, not as an understudy or standby) in whichever US production has an opening first(excluding, I assume, San Fran, since thats not technically a "replacement").

Having known Alyssa since elementary school(Yes, I remember when she played Napolean Bonaparte in a musical about Lewis and Clark...), I can honestly say she is one of the kindest, most genuinely talented people I have ever known, and I know she will be incredible!

On a side note, it will be nice to see more fresh blood in Wicked.

The next recast most likely will be Broadway, after Nicole.

I'm sure Donna will close the 1st tour. Then, Teal and Marcie will probably stay a while being they're opening productions.

The fact that someone, a student none the less could go and land one of the most vocally challenging principle roles in not only Broadway history, but of female parts a lone amazes me. The fact that she landed it on her first shot when actresses have been a stand-by for years, amazes me even more.

I'm so happy for her, I'll be keeping a look out for her.
