I thought it was the best Broadway show saw. IT IS HORRIBLE.

While not my favorite show in the world, it was (or, at least when I saw it OB and then again in Broadway previews) a worthy piece. And, as far as the comment about "all those Tonys," it just goes to prove that the Tonys don't have that much impact on the box office as a lot of people assume (think Passion). I shudder to think what bodes for the traditionally slack months of January and February.

Wow... you know, I love this show. I saw it three times, and loved it every performance. But to be honest, the last time I saw it it just wasn't as good. The replacement cast just wasn't the same. So while I'm sad to see it go, in all reality, I never would have seen it again. I'm actually more depressed about [tos] closing. But SA had a nice run, and it still has a tour on the way! Let's hope something else can go into the Eugene O'Neill that keeps on the streak of great theatre.

Well at least the next tenant at the O'Neill is likely to be another groundbreaking new musical.

So sad!! I love this show, it's one of the best shows of the last ten or even twenty years and I truly mean it. I know there are a crapload of people on here who hate it but I loved it each and every time I saw it a little more. It's amazingly innovative, truly touching, and one of the few shows I've ever seen that really impacted me as a person.

It had an INCREDIBLE run though and defied unbelievable odds.

The recession has finally hit Broadway too....I just got an offer for $45 orchestra seats for Young Frankenstein, so it seems that it will be right behind LB, Hairspray & SA....What other shows will be heading out?

I am glad I got to see it again last week, and I am sad that it is going. I was hoping to take my niece to see it, but alas, it is not meant to be.

I saw it at t he Atlantic on the evening of the final preview. Everyone associated with the show seemed to be there. I met and talked to Sater and Sheik. There was an electricity in the theater that I had not experiennced. Sater told me that they knew the show was moving but they were not sure if it would be to another off-Broadway house or somewhere else. He was like a little kid. He even hugged and kissed me when I talked to him at intermission.

It was one of the most electric experiences I had at the theater. Afterwards the cast came out to go home and you could just feel their excitement. No people waiting for autographs. They just moved through the last of the crowd with an energy that let you know they were loving what they were doing.

My thought that night was that it should stay in an intimate venue. I am happy that it won all of those Tony's. (One I don't think it should have won) but I avoided it when I got back to NYC because I just wanted to remember that wonderful evening on June 14th, 2006 when I saw a show that took my breath away! And to have shared it with one of my best friends who was blown away also, made it even better!

But, all now know the wonder....and that night they truly believed (You could feel it). That may be cliche' and sappy, but that was the type of energy in the house the night I saw it. Just an amazing night.

Just my thoughts.

Just give the world Love.

So much negativity. Didn't one person say "I couldn't wait for this to close..." really? I'm all for hating shows like the next guy. I hate many, many shows but I wouldn't wish any of them to close. Or post good riddance in their closing thread. That would make me a c*nt.

ETA: I do hate many Spring Awakening fans. Like this girl:
