"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
Some of those are really sad. What happened to A Chorus Line?

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
How is it possible that the average ticket price for Cry-Baby is so low? The average price last week was even lower. Where are people getting these super cheap tickets?
"I mean, sitting side by side with another man watching Patti LuPone play Rose in GYPSY on Broadway is essentially the equivalent of having hardcore sex." -Wanna Be A Foster.
"Say 'Goody.' Say 'Bubbi.'" ... "That's it. Exactly as if it were 'Goody.' Now I know you're gonna sing 'Goody' this time, but nevertheless..."
not surprised, because it was not going to be a big week with huge grosses and capacity because of no school breaks and colleges have not ended yet. i have to sayfor an off week the grosses and capacity were normal to me at this time of the year. i am shocked about little mermaid drop. still worried about spring awakening. is 66.6 % good for the palace theatre. last week for annaleigh in broadway wicked then she goes to chicago and haven with legally blonde ....may 11th a sad say. i know when i see this every week lion king, wicked, jersey boys, south pacific will have wonderful grosses and capacity.
At what percentage do shows start to be concerned?
Percentages don't matter so much as the Average Ticket Price. Any show can have a bad week, percentage-wise (during the winter, in the fall, etc.), but if the ATP is high, it says that there's still a great demand for the show.
(ex. SPRING AWAKENING just barely met its break-even point this week, but the ATP was about $70, a more-than-fair amount)
On the other hand, if CRY-BABY (this is last week's data) pulled in about 85% capacity, but had an ATP of $26... something's wrong.

thanks bustopherphantom. as long as they make enough to pay their rently use of the theatre. it will def pick up after memorial day weekend, and then make a drop after labor day weekend. matt doyle said in an interview they were around the same capcity last year before getting nominated for best musical. congratulations to a catered affairfor their great week.
It's the time between spring break and end of school - rough patch. it'll pass
I was thinking of rushing either Glory Days or Cry Baby before school ended [In addition to August and YF]- should I just save my money for something better?
Wow. I can't remember the last time a show had grosses so embarrassingly low. With already two weeks like that, can the theatre just shut them down before opening? There's no possible way they can cover costs with grosses like that.
