a semi-staged version of the classic Lerner & Loewe broadway show Camelot, starring Gabriel Byrne (don't know if he can sing or not), Marin Mazzie (she sure can sing!), Nathan Gunn, Fran Drescher (!), and Christopher Lloyd, will air this coming Thursday on PBS. I'm looking forward to it! Lonny Price is the director. This is one of my all-time favorite scores!! (:

Will someone be able to put it on DVD for me, please? I can't figure out how to work my DVD recorder. I'll pay, of course.

Who is Fran Drescher playing?

I did not realize this performance was being telecast! Thank you for posting this, I just assumed it was one of those "in concert" programs that we never get to see in the Midwest.

By the way for Chicago, the airing is Sunday, May 11, 2:00pm, not Thursday. (according to WTTW's website, don't blame me if they change it!)

PEACE.

CATS, according to an interview with Lonny Price, this is going to be available on DVD sometime this fall. Though I know it sucks to have to wait.

That would be odd since, as far as I know, none of the Live from Lincoln Center programs have ever been made available on DVD as stipulated in the contracts. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I was wondering the very same thing myself actually. But thats what it what it says. Maybe someone out there knows what the exception for this is?

The production trucks are already on 65th Street. I'm not sure when they got there, but there were parked by the time I walked past them this morning on my way to work.

For those in the DC area, WETA is apparently NOT showing this on their regular channel on Thursday. It will be seen on WETA HD on Thursday at 9 p.m. It will air on regular WETA on Sunday May 11 at 1 p.m. Maryland Public television, channel 22 on Comcast, is airing the show on its regular channel on Thursday.

Gabriel Byrne doesn't really have to sing, he is playing the Richard Burton role.
And can't wait to see Bobby Steggart as Modred.

I didn't realize this was coming up so soon. Can't wait!

Does anyone have any idea why Bobby Steggart is wearing heals in the first video?

Maybe to be taller?

I, too, am looking forward to this production - my first professional show was Camelot and I have great memories of how it felt to sing that great music. My only reservations about this (or any recent production, for that matter,) is WHY do they cast people lightyears older than the characters? At the beginning of the play, Arthur is approximately 16 years old (along with Guenevere)...just never made sense to me. But I AM looking forward to hearing this glorious score sung by such talented people.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

For all of you wondering why Bobby is wearing heels you will find out in the show. His Mordred is over the top and incredibly awesome. And don't worry about Gabriel Byrne and singing. He is brilliant in the role. Yesterday at tech we saw the set for the first time. It is beautiful. I was chatting with Mr. Byrne most of the time. We share a dressing room

I assume Miley Cyrus and Joe Jonas were unavailable.

I would love to see this in person. Does anyone know of any discounts available? I haven't been able to find anything. I guess it's kind of a hot ticket.
