I'm going to see Legally Blonde on Friday, February 15. Does anyone know if Michael Rupert will be in, or if he is on vacation? I saw him in Sweet Charity years ago and would love to see him in this show. I would be so disappointed if he is out.

They're really good about getting the right information. Their sources are very close to the production, and they don't post understudy information just based on rumors. So it's a great resource.

On the other hand, the admins at BroadwayUnderstudies.com only post information coming directly from the actors, or other reputable sources. We're working on getting the word out and encouraging people to submit info, but if there are people you are particularly interested in, tell them to tell us.
Michael has had a great attendance record, and I heard his understudies are fabulous.
Better catch him soon. I believe he is still planing to leave LB March 16th according to his site.

Andy Karl is good as Callahan but way too young and attravctive. Kevin Pariseau is more age appropriate and sings the role very well, it's a matter of taste. Updated On: 2/11/08 at 01:59 PM
I thought Andy Karl was a genius Callahan, acting, vocally, and looks wise. It put a very different spin on it, that he was this young, hot professor. I really, really enjoyed him. On the other hand, I thought Kevin Pariseau delivered a completely flat performance, dull dull DULL, and was actually off-key for parts of Blood in the Water. But to each their own, though it DOES make me laugh that peoples' biggest complaint with Andy when he goes on for a bigger role is that he's "too good-looking"...what a problem to have!
^ I thought 'his site' meant his mySpace? Which is pretty frequently updated from what I can see. Although I can't find the info on when he is leaving.
I'll believe it when I hear it from his MySpace. It's very well maintained and up to date and I am sure as soon as it's official, it will be put up there.

As cute as Andy Karl is, no one his age would run a "Billion Dollar Law Firm" I don't know what they were thinking when they gave Andy the Callahan cover.

His age? He's in his thirties. Though he looks MUCH, MUCH younger there are plenty of people who are younger who have achieved much more and are much wealthier. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that he could be in Callahan's position. And with Andy acting the role, I don't think there's any doubt whatsoever in anyone's mind. His cool confidence and the way he smirks and acts smarmy, he's positively PERFECT for the part.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be super defensive, but his performance as Callahan is honestly one of my favorite performances I've ever seen.
I'm not the biggest fan of Kevin's Callahan either. Which was disappointing for me because I've seen him do other things and I've LOVED him. He just came off as kind of flat to me.

Curtain, you obviously work at the show from your dozens of inside track posts. For the record, Andy Karl is a wonderful Callahan and if the biggest problem is his "too good looks" than they should just fire everyone who is handsome and replace them with fugs. It's show business people. Updated On: 2/12/08 at 03:14 PM
I one billion percent agree with everything Kelly2 last wrote. Andy's "crime" is that he's gorgeous and far younger looking than his years. Too bad because his Callahan was absolute perfection. I'm sure every sexual harassment suit brought about throughout history wasn't against totally unattractive men or women.
