available now to listen to and it sounds AMAZING. has anyone pre-ordered on here and got it before the date it comes out and if not the day it does? I want to because it says they're going to ship them out when they get them in in late June. Honestly I can't wait for this CD anymore haha
i agree, Laura Bell Bundy sounds very strained on this recording. i wonder if a day off before the recording wouldve helped? but yeah, she sounds pretty good, but "so much better" especially sounds off
and the orchestrations sound pretty bad, just...so electronic! even more electronic sounding than they even did seeing it live.
and yes, the recording did leak, but no PMing me, because im not going to send it. i just got it from someone else by chance.
EDIT: by the way, im still going to buy the physical cd so i can like...have it, haha. yes, im a dork...

on the website, Laura Bell Bundy sounds very strained on "So Much Better." You'd think that they'd record that one (since its as close to as own song that she gets) among the earliest so her voice was still powerful. She can really sing that "so much better." (sry...couldn't resist)
EDIT: Thank you b3ta for pointing out my improper grammar in relation to song titles. Proofreading isn't exactly my thing...which is exactly why journalism didn't work out Updated On: 6/12/07 at 10:21 PM
I still prefer the San Fransisco orchestrations. These are just irritating. Not as lively and more forced.
I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)
I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't the final mix on the label's website, but that's just me.
Well, for the Broadway transition from out-of-town tryout they obviously re-tooled the orchestrations. I just don't like how they sound now. In SF they sounded more lively and exciting and less polished-processed-pop. They're TOO polished to me.
And Laura's singing is hit or miss. I think she's getting the Idina Menzel syndrome. Vocally inconsistant but when she's on, she is ON. Sometimes she sounds forced, strained, blah blah blah. But other times she's on top of her game.
But on a lighter note, I love how "Ireland" sounds. Gotta love Orfeh!

The leaked recording is probably the "Tony Voter Rough Mix". It is not fully mixed and finished, and was produced with the sole purpose of being sent to Tony voters.
I think for being an unfinished product the recording sounds really great.

oh, so thats why some songs are like 9 minutes long :)
and yeah, i agree- when Laura Bell's voice is good, it is GOOOD. but i just thought on the recording it is kind of...restrained, in a way, on some songs. She stills sounds good though, just not where she can be!
and im obsessed with "What You Want" :)
