I dont seem to recall hearing/reading anything about it. Are there plans for the show to tour? Any talk of rights being made available?

Thanks.

I dunno, but I hope the rights are released just because I want to design a hideous 80's set.

The Wedding Singer will play in Fort Lauderdale, FL in October and I saw it announced when I saw Legends at the Barbara Mann in Fort Myers, FL.

A Non-equity tour produced by NETworks and based on the Broadway staging launches in the fall.

I hate that it's going Non-Equity. I don't see why it would, but whatever. It's opening here in Birmingham, AL in Sept. Apparently we're the first stop.

It's an equity tour, I think.

Usually BroadwayAcrossAmerica produces equity tours, yet, I am not sure about what Im saying because I have no written proof. We will find out soon if it's equity or non-equity.

Baltimore, Minneapolis, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Louisville, Columbus, Appleton, Pittsburgh and Tempe are the cities announced on www.broadwayacrossamerica.com

Oh, I think you're right, they said they were looking for non-equity performers for the tour on their website.
Still, I think it will be a great non-equity production, Rent is always non-equity, yet, I found the tour to be fantastic. So we shall wait and see, before we judge the show for the only fact it won't be "non-equity"

I didn't know that Piazza's tour and Sweet Charity's were non-equity. I am pretty sure Molly Ringwald is an equity performer since she was in Cabaret on Broadway. So that means that equity performers can be in a non-equity production? I didn't know that.

Rent had two equity tours before it went Non-equity.
Frankly, I believe the current tours to be sub par, not for being non union (they have always found much of their cast that way for Rent), but because even with such a basic, basic set, they downsized it.
I am willing to bet that Wedding Singer is going out with no automated show deck, like what they did with Hairspray.

I have yet to see a Non-Equity tour I liked. I saw the recent RENT tour and they were pretty horrible, as was 42nd street, and Cats. I don't think Sweet Charity - at least this last season - was non-equity because I have the playbill and a lot of the performers mention Equity. It may be going Non-Equity but the show itself was way too big of a production to be considered non-equity.

I believe that Sweet Charity and Piazza are both equity tours. Perhaps there are plans to restructure?

Maybe Im wrong, I assumed that NETworks produces only non-equity shows.

NETworks produces Equity AND non-equity, but primarily non-equity. Currently, Charity and Piazza are equity, but will be closing and then restructuring to go out as non-equity tours.

Random Question...
When DRS closed, did it become Non Equity upon reopening?

I rather liked it. It was a pleasant surprise, and it's coming to Minneapolis Sept. 25-30. I definitely plan to see it again. I thought it was a lot of fun, and I'm not a big fan of Adam Sandler, so I wasn't overly impressed by the movie version.
