I'm really excited. I've been hoping for this for a long time. I haven't seen the show in years, and this is what I've been waiting for to get me to go back -- contrary to what it may seem, I don't hate the show (I actually loved it before it became terribly overrated and the fans became scary). I've just been waiting for a good reason to return.

Sebastian Arcelus was in Rocky Horror too wasn't he?

This is my favorite trio of performers in Wicked. Kendra is the funniest Glinda, Julia is the most heartfelt Elphaba and Sebastian is the only Fiyero I cared about.
No need to be rude but how is it a triple threat? I don't think their terrible, I think their brilliant performers & I don't think they will make the show close.
This is INCREDIBLE News! I will have to get a flight from Wales UK to see them within the new year.
One question, how did they do on tour by any chance?
This is excellent news. I am already going to Ana and Kate's final performance on 1/7 and will likely be seeing the show again two days later on 1/9. I saw Julia Murney as Elphaba in Philadelphia and was completely blown away. Sebastian Arcelus is also my favorite Fiyero (out of the five I've seen).
Yah, seriously. Julia is far better than many of the Elphabas that have gone through Wicked, and Sebastian is the best Fiyero next to Norbert. I mean, c'mon, David Ayers and Derrick Williams? Please. The only person I am worried about is Kendra, but she is following Kate Reinders so she can't seem that bad. -BJH
I've seen Sebastian, David, and an understudy on tour whose name I can never remember (Nick something?), and Sebastian was my second favorite, my favorite being the guy I can't remember. I thought Kendra was hilarious as well.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
These three are incredible in the roles they will be performing IMO and in the opinion of MANY others. They will in no way endanger the show. They are well respected members of the WICKED tour and the WICKED community with large and well deserved fanbases. In no way will this cast change harm the show. In fact, it will help. Their fans will come to see it in NYC.
This is exciting for them and WICKED on Broadway!!

I loved Kendra's performance when I saw her earlier this year in DC. I also saw the dismal performance of Glinda understudy, Annaleigh Ashford, who couldn't land a laugh if her life depended on it.
Hey Dottie!

I agree, Dottie, that Annaleigh Ashford was awful. Julia was so on that night we saw her though (and we had such a great view from our house seats). Looking forward to seeing Julia and Kendra together on stage.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

I didn't read half the threads. But I was told that "Julia is returning to NYC to a role she did". Won't reveal my source, and it's not confirmed. But I believe she'll be green again.
She was a wonderful Elphaba, really throwing herself into the character to bring a sense of realism to the role and her vocals were classy and right on the money...or is that Murney? No one I know who saw her was dissappointed.
Can we have an "I TOLD YOU SO" moment? Seriously, I knew about this and I am SO happy that Broadway will get to enjoy the green Julia experience. The rest of the casting is wonderful too. You WILL be doing the Happy Dance!
