I've dreamed about this for years! I have bits and pieces planned out in my head. I would love to see it go into the Palace. I don't know why, I feel like it would just fit there. As of right now (if the film's three won't reprise their roles) I'd love to see: Winnie: Beth Leavel Mary: Mary Testa Sarah: Felicia Finley
"I don't wanna see that!" -Aunt Sassy (as played by Valerie Cherish) on Room & Bored
They'd be perfect, but I see Carolee Carmello playing Winnie.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
The movie to me is a fun film to watch around Halloween and all that, but I'm not really sure if it's one of the better films of its type. The characters aren't exactly well developed at all and its mostly just a bunch of sight gags strung together and Bette Midler hamming it up (not that I don't enjoy that to a certain extent). I'm not sure how good it would be on stage unless they really fleshed a lot of it out to make things more intriguing and worthwhile.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
OMG that would be sooo awesome! I love that movie more than I can even begin to tell you! If Bette was in it, that would just be even better!

"Its like my mother always used to say, whenever you hear a strange and possible life-threatening noise coming from the dark woods outide, there is only one thing you should do. Dont tell any of the others and go invsetigate it alone."
All the men in my life keep getting killed by Candarian demons, all my college boyfriends and my one night stands, my male co-workers and platonic gay friends (HEY)."
-EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL
I have to admit that I was in love with this movie as a kid. However everyone else that I know hates it. It's nice to know I wasn't the only ten year old who enjoyed watching those three b!tchy divas teach those twerps a lesson or two.
This was on the Disney Channel tonight and of course I watched it for the millionth time. I love this movie, but I don't know how it would be on stage...
"All the while making faces like a baby platypus who forget to take some Beano before eating a chimichanga." FindingNamo in reference to Jessica Simpson's singing.
I love this movie! the idea of a musical doesn;t do anything for me, but when you mention Beth Leavel as Winnie, I think it wil be fantastic!

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~

I have always thought Hocus Pocus would make a great musical. I don't mind movies being made into musicals, because almost every musical had been based on something either a book or a play,so movies any different?Haveing said that I think that Ana Gasteyer would be an amazing Winnie, mabye Kate Reinders as Sarah Marrisa Jaret Winokur as Mary.

How long have you been around, doll? Most new musicals used to be ORIGINAL and not based on previous works. This is recent.

Almost every single work of the Golden Age of broadway is based on either a play or book or someone elses life. Actually, it is really hard to find a 100% original musical.

Please no more camp crap movies turned into musicals. Let's instead put the money into day camps for prospective theatre writers and composers who will create new works and visions.
