I say Harvey as Ursala as well! Alongside Gavin Creel as Prince, Tina/Kerry as Ariel and for some strange reasons I want to have Marissa Jaret Winokur as that yellow fluffy fish!

I like the idea of Tina Maddigan as Ariel, Merle Dandridge as Ursula, and Chuck Wagner as Triton. I suppose they haven't yet settled on a gender for Scuttle?
If they get even some of the people that are mentioned, this could be a pretty great cast.
I think they should go with a young unknown for Ariel. I doubt that casting an already established theatre star in the title role would change box office sales if the supporting cast is stellar enough. Besides, it'd be nice to see someone who may actually look 16 to play the part.
Ursula is a diva. Even more so with the new songs.
Harvey would be hilarious if it were just Poor Unfortunate Souls. With the new songs, you really need someone who could sell them.

You have to remember that Tina or Kerry are only theatre stars and are not generally known to the public. Most theatre goers have no sense of Broadway stardom with exceptions like Bernadette, Chita, etc...even those are pushing it.
Maybe they let Samuel E. Wright reprise the role. Because I cannot think of anyone besides him playing the part. I cannot! I'm sorry.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I LOVE Susan Egan, but Ursula? No. Merle Dandridge would be good.
Cheyenne Jackson as Eric, please and thank you.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Jeff McCarthy played Trition on the demo. I think he would be interesting.
I always thought Michael McGrath would be a perfect Scuttle since I heard he played him at an Alan Menken concert. I heard the demo for "Human Stuff" on YouTube and he sounds just like Buddy Hackett.

Kerry Butler is TOO DAMN OLD to play Ariel. Lovely though she may be. If they insisted on casting a 23 year old Mary Poppins, I don't think they are going to cast a 35 year old Ariel.
I would have liked to see Tina Maddigan as Mary Poppins. In my opinion, she'd also make a great Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
I think Ursula is the perfect role to bring Liza Minelli back to Broadway in. I'm not sure if she'd be up to 8 shows a week, but she would perform the s**t out of the role. She'd be hilarious!
Wayne Brady shouldnt be anyone because he would never show.
