I was just curious since so many people's favorites of ALL TIME are Rent, Wicked or Spelling Bee... So what show does everyone love that was written before you were born? So unless you are nine years old, I don't want to see Rent on here, people.

Mine is Threepenny Opera or Flora the Red Menace.

My favorite is Les Mis, It opened in London when I was five.

But my favorite show that was written before I was born is Gypsy.

West Side Story re: your favorite show that was written BEFORE you were born?

I like this thread though.

Les Mis? Oy, Sherman, this thread was your secret plot to make me feel old.

So I'll say Sweeney Todd to maximize my power of making others feel even older. re: your favorite show that was written BEFORE you were born? Although I was certainly born when it opened, I'm sure parts of it were written before I was born.

My Fair Lady and Sweeney Todd, which are both also in a three-way tie for my favorite musical of all time.

Technically Les Mis opened in London the year before I was born, then opened on Broadway the yaear after.

Otherwise: Sweeney Todd
