New App Helps Broadway Theatergoers Find Last-Minute Deals

Has anyone used this? It looks like they released the Android app yesterday.

Requiring tickets be sold at or less than face value is a very good move, at the very least.

I've never bought through them, but I've sold quite a few seats on there. It's great, and, ever since I started using them, I haven't had to eat an unused ticket.

I’ve had a couple of shows where I ended up not being able to go. One was an off-Broadway show not listed on StubHub or any resellers so that wasn’t an option for me to sell, even though I asked them to add the show. And another was a show I knew I wouldn’t get my money back on because it wasn’t selling well. I liked the idea of my seats not going to waste while the buyer benefits by not overpaying. Both times I sold my ticket within an hour and each person was a pleasure to deal with.

I haven't used it to actually buy tickets yet but I appreciate that you can also set notifications for if a ticket for a specific show is posted below a certain value.

I've used it both to buy and sell tickets; I often enter lotteries for two people with the hope that a friend might come with me, but when I've been unable to find a friend to go with, it's been amazing to be able to sell the second one on Theatr. Usually the ticket sells within an hour, sometimes within minutes, and I've never run into any problems. Much more secure in my experience than other reselling markets. I've also bought some tickets on Theatr. I once even found a ticket last minute to the sold out concert of Nine the morning of the show; I'd been checking for weeks before the concert to see if a ticket would show up on the website, but the Theatr app saved the day. It's a great app!!!

I've used it to sell only, and the experience was quick and easy. I do like how you can set notifications for a show you might want to see last minute. I just hope that it remains as good as it is now.

I know saying Ticketmaster is the worst isn't an original idea, but I was just browsing the Theatr app and noticed a drawback with using the original ticket platform as a handoff method.

'A person trying to unload a Shucked ticket for $135 left a comment explaining that Ticketmaster won't let you resell a ticket through them for less than face value.
