Although I never got a chance to come to Broadway to see Jessica Lange in "Long Day's Journey Into Night", I was very happy to hear that they were going to film and she would be starring against Ed Harris, her co-star from "Sweet Dreams". Since we are starting a New Year, I was anticipating the film to come out at Christmas time for Oscar consideration. Does anyone know what happened to the film? I know that they have finished filming and that some film company would pick this up for distribution!...
I almost expected that movie to be released during the SAG strike to fill up space, although I suppose a distributor would have wanted Lange, Ed Harris, and Ben Foster to be able to do publicity for it.
Maybe it'll turn up at the Venice Film Festival or something. But I have the sinking suspicion it may end up going straight to streaming or TV (like William Friedkin's The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial did)
