He was a fascinating character, and one of the last decent Republicans before it all went bad.  I cannot really picture John Rubinstein as Eisenhower, but hopefully his acting skills can overcome that.

I saw this in L.A. in December. John is very good in it and fully convincing as Eisenhower. Still it felt a bit dated and I wonder what the motivation was for bringing Eisenhower back now. While he faced some political dilemmas and tough decisions and had to react to perhaps unfair criticism of family members, all of which John does a great job at portraying, it kind of pales in comparison to today's superheated political environment.

Still worth a watch especially if you can grab a cheap ticket.
