I didn’t know you were allowed to have this much fun at Hamlet. The people next to me were discussing parallels between this and The Lion King. My comparison might be Beetlejuice with a touch of The Damned - or maybe Rocky Horror. If you sit front orchestra there is a chance of audience participation.
They cut the gravedigger scene probably due to the layout of the set as well as brevity. Also it’s a very small cast with lots of doubling. A wig, glasses and a leather jacket are used to denote separate characters. They also cut the exposition of the final scene so you aren’t told the wine and foil are poisoned until after the fact.
Saw it last night, and overall enjoyed it a lot. I agree it’s probably the most “fun” Hamlet I’ve seen. But even the fun element is used to reveal some darker implications...
I saw it, and I can say that I really like it. I almost refused to go to watch it, and I'm so glad I did it. I've seen a lot of different plays, and not each I like, but this one was for sure worth watching. Besides, Hamlet has always been one of my favorite plays, so maybe that's why I liked it so much. And also helped me to write my paper about Hamlet because we discuss it now in my literature course. I needed to write a paper, so I decided to write on originally written play and different adaptations. This site https://supremestudy.com/essay-examples/hamlet/ was the most helpful because there are Hamlet essay examples, which made the writing process faster because after reading a few examples, I had more ideas. And writing about plays I saw was much easier, so as a result, I managed to do everything without big problems.
