I am coming to NYC to see a few shows in November. I already have tickets to A Man of No Importance and Parade. I am able to see two more shows and cannot decide between the following: 1776, Kimberly Akimbo, A Strange Loop, and/or & Juliet. I love 1776 and Carolee Carmelo, but I am hesitant on this non-traditional production. I am a fan of Jeanine Tesori and David Linsday Abaire, but I know nothing about this show. A Strange Loop is a critically acclaimed show, but it doesn't seem to interest me. I know nothing of & Juliet, but it looks like it could be fun. Thoughts?

I don't think you can go wrong by adding Strange Loop and Kimberly. That would be a very prestigious theater trip!!
There's also ONLY GOLD at MCC, which is directed & cowritten by Andy Blankenbuehler and just announced a cast today including people like Terry Mann and some really fine dancers. No idea how this show is, but if you care about seeing things early it might be one to check out.

My vote would be for: Kimberly and & Juliet. (Since Loop doesn't interest you)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I would vote for & Juliet over Loop. Saw it in London and loved it! Loop didn't do much for me.

I’d go with Loop over Juliet any day. I’ve also heard incredible things about Akimbo.

Just popping in to say that, like you, I had ZERO interest in A Strange Loop and actually HATED the Off Broadway cast recording that I listened to. However, enough folks on here persuaded me to give it a shot, and I am SOOO glad that I did. It's an incredibly special show. Other than that I would also recommend & Juliet.

I would book KIMBERLY and leave the last slot open -- there are quite a few more shows coming in that have not announced yet.

If you’re interested, Merrily is scheduled for “late 2022”. But not sure if it will be playing while you’re in town.

absolutely see Kimberly Akimbo. I saw it off Broadway and knew it would be going to Broadway. It was really excellent.
