You want chills you gotta see and listen to Lea's version of DROMP now that's star quality and electrifying!  I saw Julie and she's very good but after you see Lea simply there's just no comparison. Lea's on a whole other level. Simply amazing as Fanny - giving a TONY worthy performance!

I came across this video on YouTube.  It's Julie Benko singing "Cornet Man" with Seth Rudetsky at the piano.  https://youtu.be/ajZez2Ito_c

Julie's on tonight. I forget what show she was scheduled to do this week?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

We bought tix for the Saturday matinee a few months back, hoping to see Lea. Last row, mezz, about $160/each. Got to the theater at 1:45 to find out about Julie subbing in. Refunds were offered, handouts were already prepared for all options.  if you bought on Seat Geek, you could contact them any time that day for a refund, just don’t go in.  Box office had to return there. TKTS you had to contact them, although I doubt there were any TKTS tix sold for a show with Lea. Resale purchases were stuck.

it was too late for us to get a Plan B, so we entered, knowing we had seen tix on TKTS for Friday with Julie scheduled to,perform for $99. Asked the usher upstairs nicely if anything could be done as we knew there would be returns and empty seats. He sent us downstairs to the head usher. We commiserated with him about what a crazy day it must be and asked him if we could be relocated then or later based on returns, he asked if we could wait a few minutes while he checked with the box office which we were happy to do.  Three minutes later he seated us in L 1 and L 3 which were wonderful. L5&7 also got relocated ticket holders as did another HoF dozen seats near us.  There still were many empties in the orchestra which were self-upgraded to by others during intermission.

Julie was terrific and we were glad we stayed, and we later sent an email to the theater praising the way they all handled a difficult situation.

For those of you who have seen Julie multiple times, do you believe that her acting choices have changed since Lea joined the cast?  Many on this board have written that a standby’s acting choices and overall performance are based on the actor she covers, so I’m wondering if/how this standby has massaged her delivery to reflect a very different leading lady.  Similarly, she has always been highly regarded on this board, but do you think she has pushed herself to excel even further in response to a star who appears to be better suited to the role?

I know what you're asking.  But I am not sure there is a way to answer it without going into the ridiculous Lea Vs Julie Vs Beanie thing.  For me.. Julie was better at the beginning when she was still discovering things.  Right now her performance has a auto pilot mode to it.  Not that she is not fabulous in it.  She is.  But I think her performance has more roots in Beanies.  That is just a matter of opinion.

Julie posted that tonight was her 100th show, which is almost 1/3 of all performances so far. Wild.

I caught Julie Benko last month with mainly the "standby" cast:  eg both standbys were on for Nicky and Mrs. Brice.

Just now posting my thoughts.   To me it was a textbook example of how to keep a broadway show tight and fresh.  The energy level was incredibly high, the audience extremely enthusiastic. Julie was superb, and she had great chemistry with Jeremiah James.  The show was polished and an example (to me) of how to maintain quality during a Broadway run.  So glad I got to see this cast.  They really gave their all, and the audience ate it up!

You just responded to a post from January 19th.

If my math is correct (it might not be, I didn't try super hard), that was 151 performances ago. So, Julie's 100th would have been around the show's 310th performance. In other words, as of January 19th, she would have performed in 32% of all performances since the show opened, just a bit over 1% off from 1/3.

Good for her for not getting flustered, but the overacting and mugging is not at all entertaining. I find it very difficult to watch.

I was there that night. She is AMAZING.

It was even better in the room. Isn't wild have different performances come across on video?

I liked Julie alot. She's a very capable Fannie and adds something special to the role but she lacks that star quality - that star is Lea Michele who's amazing!

Barring any more Lea absences, Julie will end the run with a total of 178 performances out of 569 total (not including previews), which will be 31%, and a major accomplishment. Looking forward to being there on August 31.

Welp, Lea's out tonight, so it'll be 179 performances for Julie. Will be interesting to see if that number goes any higher.
