I haven’t watched survivor in probably 4 or 5 years but I’m loving this season so far. I guess because it was a long break for me. But I’m actually interested in this season. Less days but same amount of episodes is nice so we get more island and tribal time I guess. Watching last week was out of boredom and having nothing else to watch but I’m glad I tuned in!

Apparently the show did a horrible edit throughout the series on the winner in order for them to get almost all the votes while not showing enough footage to support it. I was shocked! Wasn’t expecting that.

I agree the edit for her was awful BUT after she went to exile island, I knew she was going to win. For some reason the edit for that episode and the next convinced me she was the winner.
This season was originally to be entitled Survivor: Dawn of a New Era according to Jeff Probst, although production and filming was initially scheduled to start on March 24, 2020, but it was pushed back until 2021 due to surrounding international travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually, the show releases two seasons per television season year—one debuting around the fall (September) and the other debuting around late winter/early spring (February or March). But due to the pandemic, the Survivor crew was not able to produce this and the subsequent 42nd season in 2020. Production had considered filming domestically in Georgia or Hawaii, but the unpredictability of the pandemic pushed filming back to 2021. On February 11, 2021, Faiyaz Koya, the Fijian Minister of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, approved filming for this season with the crew required to arrive in groups and quarantine before filming. On March 22, 2021, Jeff Probst announced on-location that production of this season was set to start. The forty-first season debuted in September 2021.
This season, was filmed over 26 days, 13 days shorter than the standard 39-day timeline due to the production schedule being compromised by the Fijian government's quarantine rules. To keep the shorter game just as challenging, the tribes were given fewer supplies and no food rations. Items won on Reward Challenges were also scarce.
Beginning in 41, seasons will no longer be named after twists or overarching themes and will simply be identified by their season number.
For the first time since Survivor: Borneo, the winner was announced on location. In place of a live reunion show, a "deep dive" episode, also filmed on location moments after the Final Tribal Council took place with the finalists and jurors in attendance.
