Am I the only one who is frustrated in trying to book appointments for this? I thought I had success at Walgreens the other day but the site crashed just before I hit the CONFIRM button
Grrrr.....

You are not alone. I won't qualify until late Spring/Summer but my Mom had to refresh the website for an appointment every few minutes for hours and hours before she finally got an appointment. Many people have reported how incredibly frustrating this entire process has been. I hope it gets better because it's been a headache since last year. Good luck to you!

Wife and I had vaccinations set up by our doctor .About a week before we got an Email from Mt Sinai that they cancelled and would not be rescheduled. Wife trying valiantly to find a way to get them. Told her it is a waste of time .She continues but told her point blank I could care less if I ever got one .I have just given up. The city and states handling of the vaccinations could have been better if the 3 stooges did it.

The city will never come back as we knew it .Luck to all those trying to get the shots

DollyPop, With your age and especially your most recent health issues your doctor's office should be arranging for you to get the vaccine through your local hospital.  You should contact your doctor's office.   Not be bothered with Walgreens or others.  My neighbor's daughter is in her 50's and has had cancer twice and the cancer facility on their own arranged for her to get her vaccine.  She didn't even have to inquire.  She got it through one of our hospitals.  Also as crazy as Florida is, it took one phone call for two of my neighbors, to arrange the appointment.  They answered automated questions and the next day got a returned phone call with an appointment.  My 90 year old neighbor already received hers and my 83 year old neighbor goes Saturday.  So we are doing something right.

I qualify because I have Crohn’s disease. That makes me immune compromised and therefor eligible to sign up to get the vaccine. I had to wait on a virtual line for an hour. When the counter hit zero I was able to sign up for an appointment at the Javit’s Center.

Now, I can’t speak personally for DollyPop, despite that I want to help. But, upon speaking to both my gastroenterologist as well as my internist. They said themselves that they personally couldn’t sign me up, but emailed me info on how to go about it online since I was informed that, no matter what you could only really sign up online same as everyone else.

Lastly, a word of advice. I would call your doctor and have them write a letter, ,letterhead and all, so you can take it with you as proof of qualification. I mean, yeah, they did email me a form to fill out what I have and sign it. But, since they didn’t ask for a doctor’s note when they sent you a form via email, the form itself didn’t ask for proof and oddly felt like they were doing this based on the honor system.

I appreciate everyone's feedback.

My doctor's office makes routine "welfare checks" to their older patients, which is very nice. In our phone chat a few days ago, I mentioned to the nurse that I'd been having trouble getting the vaccination and she merely suggested trying the local hospital. She said nothing about a letter from my doctor. I'll call his office on Monday.

Once again, thanks to everyone for their input.

And people need to remember, the ways to do this very greatly from state to state. Here in MA, our doctors can't get us appointments, either. Our eligibility just opened to 65+ along with any age with 2 or more cormobidities...and the first day they could register? The system crashed and was unusable most of the day.

Thanks to those who suggested that I get a letter from my doctor. I'm on my way into town to pick it up.

Btw: I just learned that the vaccinations given at Jones Beach on 2/15 weren't kept cold enough and are ineffective.

Roxy, considering the fact that you are so much older than I am, you really should get vaccinated. Maybe even several times...just to make sure.

Sadly due to no bail law streets where I live and Times Square and the subways are now unsafe. Even if we wanted to and shows were running wife would not use them .We could get free tickets and it wwoukdnt matter

Anyway hope it all turns out ok for you and others regarding Broadway.

And neither is Times Square. And neither have anything to do with getting the vaccine.

But Roxy will only acknowledge what Newsmax tells him.

Roxy will protest that he doesn’t care but I’m sure that if he had the chance, he’d happily cut the line to get the shot.

Just to clarify and not spread misinformation or hearsay, not all of the vaccinations given that day were ineffective. 81 out of over 1,300 given that day were ineffective due to a temperature mishap, but not all. Those 81 people have been given new appointments. I am not trying to downplay this setback or the importance of storing these things safely and properly, but it’s a relatively minor glitch that has been swiftly rectified.

Hey Kad Hate to break your bubble but I do not watch Newsmax As far as cutting the line you are wrong again. Despite what you think I would not cut the line because I do not care if I get the shot. What is left of this city is not worth it . You think it is fine. I am not wasting my time trying to get the shot. My wife is deathly afraid of it.Me I simply do not care .Believe what you want.

“What is left of this city is not worth it”

It’s not worth... protecting yourself and others from a pandemic?

You’re truly a miserable person. And you clearly do care, or else you would not continue to come to this board.

Whether you live in Podunk or Midtown Manhattan, getting vaccinated is critical protection, as Kad says, for yourself and others. Covid-19 will not be eradicated, but an inoculation will stop the destruction and grief it has caused this past year in terms of severe illness, death, and societal anxiety.

You don't have to come back to see a Broadway show. You do have to continue to be a member of the human race.

The Johnson and Johnson one dose vaccine just got approved and should be available to the public by the end of March. They're expected to have 20 million doses at first.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Your life seems miserable. Change it or stop complaining, it's getting old. And not taking this shot is pure stupidity and ignorance. Kind of like.....every other GOP member in America.

Good to hear, Mr Roxy.  That is what I was talking about in my earlier post that those with serious health issues, their doctors should be initiating  the vaccine appointment for you. Everybody should read the eligibility for the vaccine in their own State.  Our Governor just expanded Friday, to those with compromised immune systems.  Not to be a downer, Mr. Roxy, but from what I heard from my brother and others, the first shot is nothing.  It is the second shot that will give you a fever, chills and body aches/pains.  It lasted 24 hours.

Myself and five people in my family have had the 2nd shot (Pfizer) and nobody has had anything but some soreness in the arm that got the shot.
