...Rachel Brosnahan. Just finished watching season 3 of Mrs Maisel and was reminded once again how many times fleeting moments Brosnahan has had that reminded me of Patty Duke: small gestures, line readings, plus looks voice and charisma.
And yes, Amy Sherman-Palladino should direct it as a musical. In fact, just give her whatever musical film project is being developed. While season 3 was wildly uneven -- In fact a lot of it was exasperating -- the musical sequences were brilliant. She trusted her singers and dancers, the editing never got in the way, the camera always seemed to be in the perfect place, and the pacing always led up to a big emotional finish. Oh, and those newly composed period songs were just perfect.

These days, most 20-year-old movies have already been remade 3 times. (Not saying that's a good thing, but I'd rather have a new Patty Duke than a new Spider Man.)
