Hey folks, I was just wondering, have you ever tried getting rush or standing room tickets on opening night, and if so, were you successful or unsuccessful? I've never been to an opening night, so I'm trying to find out if it would even be possible.

For rush, it depends on the show.  Standing room -- almost never. The production team and the photographers/camera crews are standing there.

Yeah, that's understandable.

I rushed opening night of the Laurie Metcalf show "The Other Place" several years back. Actually didn't realize it was opening night at the time, so a happy surprise.  As others said, depends on the show.

Well first It depends on the show. I've never heard of rush or standing room for opening nights. However, if you keep checking the ticketing website for the show, you might see some tickets become available for opening nights. I was able to attend the opening nights of Waitress and Bandstand because of this! :) I'd say just keep an eye out.
