Starting a Podcast? |
Hi there,
I can't offer you much advice about Podcasting, but I do run a performing arts blog (link in signature) and had a special experience at this show due to my friend being a lead producer. Perhaps we could collaborate somehow...

Absolutely!! DM me! I really do think that we could see some success with this.

Thank you! I came here first because you guys know your stuff, so any ideas you guys have on the direction of this podcast would be incredible.

Things you'll need to get started:
An affordable starter microphone. I'm fond of the Blue Snowball brand.
Audacity software. It's free and easy to use. Many podcasters use it. You can edit out your "Umms" and dead air.

A website to post it on. You can make a simple one on wordpress or blogger. Or join an existing podcast site.
Tips for early episodes
Give yourself a rough episode outline (Intro, topic, Q&A) and length (30-60 minutes). Some starter podcasts like to freeform ramble and post the whole conversation. I don't recommend that.
Find a short list of other podcasts you like to listen to regularly and use as inspiration.
Have fun!
