Although we're a little over halfway through the 19/20 season announcements, it's time to start discussing the 20/21 season! The Ferryman has already announced that it's touring, and today's announcement of Pretty Woman has really gotten the ball rolling! The Broadway League's Spring Road Conference is also starting shortly, which'll give venues the time to see which shows they'll want to come to your hometown. Here's the link to the spreadsheets to help keep track of things:

2020-2021 Touring Season spreadsheets

Here are a few shows that have already been teased/scheduled for the 20/21 season:

Hamilton: Boise, Spokane, Albuquerque, Tempe, Tucson, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Greenville, Hartford, Durham, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Syracuse

Dear Evan Hansen: Los Angeles (Ahmanson), Greensboro

Wicked: Greenville, West Palm Beach, Greensboro, Durham

Frozen: San Francisco (SHN), Tempe, Oklahoma City

The Lion King: Greensboro, Fort Worth

Come From Away: Columbus, Greensboro

Mean Girls: Greensboro

Beautiful: Greensboro

Although things remain fluid at the moment, here are some additional shows that are expecting to tour: Avenue Q, South Pacific, The Heroin Diaries, Grumpy Old Men, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and (possibly) Groundhog Day
More tours are expected to be coming around the Tony Awards, so stay tuned!

Also, To Kill A Mockinbird will tour as well. What else should we expect to your from this season? I’d expect production tours for Hadestown and Tootsie, And Ain’t Too Proud. And SETA tours for The Prom, Kiss Me Kate, Pretty Woman, Beetlejuice, Be More Chill, and maybe Oklahoma if they can figure out a decent tour set that’s just as immersive. Should be interesting for sure!!!

I would be over the moon if Groundhog Day toured, but I haven't heard anything on that front for a while. I know the Ordway Theater in St. Paul is doing it, but that's a regional production. (Same with upcoming productions in Florida and San Francisco)

Did I miss something?

It's an Off-Broadway Touring production to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the comic strip. I found info about it here: YAGMACB tour

Loving that Providence continues to be a lunching spot for some big tours. Providence and Boston are becoming much more equal in terms of quality of touring shows each receives during a season. Providence has always been solid but Boston really used to get all the big tours on their first years. They still do sometimes, but idk just feels like less business in there lately compared to Providence.

^ That would be because of the massive tax credit Providence gives to national touring companies that start there.

The Pittsburgh CLO has announced their 2020 Summer Season and among the shows are THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL (June 2-7) and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (June 9-14). I wonder if these are the official tour or local productions?

Easy mystery to solve. Just by thinking about it, there's no way Spongebob would be licensed to any regional houses this early on, especially during the first year of a tour. If we look at the tour schedule on its website, there's a week-long gap between Providence, RI and Findlay, OH, and that's the same week as the newly announced Pittsburgh run. So it's safe to say it's the tour.

https://thespongebobmusical.com/tickets/#

By looking at upcoming productions of "Once On This Island" on MTI's website, it appears to be restricted only to schools for licensing since there's a tour on the road.

However, Pittsburgh CLO is advertising using the tour's logo, and the Pittsburgh run is now listed on the tour's website.

https://www.onceonthisisland.com/tour/

I'm most intrigued by the CLO's production of "Cabaret" next summer. Their advertisement blurb mentions "Maybe This Time," so that means they're licensing the 1998 revival version.  It could end up being a very exciting production, depending on any 'names' they might end up casting, and if they rent the national tour set.

"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2

Dr. Jennifer Rinaldi will live on forever. Someone get her a Tony.

Thanks sbflyfan! Wouldn’t mind seeing a few of those if the price is right, but I’m not really wanting to buy season tickets. Need to save up for the 2020/2021 PNC Broadway series for when Hamilton comes back again. 2020-2021 Touring Season
