Getting playbills and/or poster signed by cast has been a challenge. For one, Catherine MacCormack was a big no to several folks. She even scowled at someone. So before anyone raises the issue, I understand that is their prerogative and that they don't have to.

However, I did wonder about playbills being signed by cast children. Whether it's Ferryman or any other show, what is the routine for asking for sigs from child cast members? Some of the parents of the Ferryman child actors were very hostile to the request, while other parents and kids were more than happy. Someone said the parents don't want their kids to get spoiled. Others said that isn't true. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with this. I never did the SD at School of Rock or Matilda.

Thanks.

All we can control is going to stage door and kindly asking him/her to sign our playbill. How they respond back to you (i.e. ignoring you, kindly declining, or be outright hostile) is up to them.

Thank you.  I understand that. I thought there might be a protocol when it comes to children as I've not done the stage door before this as far as children were concerned.

When I did School of Rock stage door, the kids came out and most signed. Some went straight to their parents and left. I didn't think there was any special protocol for kids.

At Annie, King & I, & Matilda stagedoor, the kids signed and seemed happy to do it.  I didn't ask since I don't collect playbill signatures, but I didn't see any parents get upset.  They seemed to enjoy the experience as much as the kids.
