Anyone know if there is a discount code for this?

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Reimagined maybe; but it's still a white supremacy fantasy that somehow fails to mention how "their" land was obtained.

This production definitely acknowledges that America is founded and built on violence.  I wouldn't call this production a "fantasy," but rather a nightmare, and in a good way.  This production has been conceived with a critical and contemporary eye on the material.

Very few shows mention things not plot-relevant that occurred before the play is set.

I've never seen Oklahoma and am ashamed to say I know NOTHING about the story. Usually traditional old school musicals don't appeal to me but this seems like it has a modern spin?

This production was made for you. The Creative Team took a look at the show as if it was a brand new musical, and took off from there. Sure, the style of some of the songs may be old-timey, but there is so much new energy, life, and soul, it feels like it was written yesterday. I really can't recommend it enough.

For transparency sake, I also love the original musical. But I really love what they did here, and think they make it better. I would hate for you to miss out just because traditional musicals aren't your thing. That's totally fair/valid - I just think you will genuinely love this.

They haven't officially announced any castings but the Instagram keeps posting pictures of the St. Ann's cast so can we assume they're all transferring? One month tlll the first preview!

Damon, Rebecca, Ali, and Mary are all still in it. Not sure about the rest of them.

Will Bill (aka Mrs. Maisel's brother and Annaleigh's husband in the revival of You Can't Take It With You) is the only new addition to the cast, in the role of Ali Hakim. Everyone else is transferring from St. Ann's.

Great news! One of the most solid ensembles I’ve ever seen.

I'm a little surprised they didn't try to get a name or two in this. I'm also surprised that the marketing isn't being more explicit about the experimental nature of the production. I except some mass walk out in previews from unsuspecting patrons.

Have you seen the TV spot? It makes it pretty clear that this ain't your grandma's Oklahoma. Same with the brochure I got in the mail. I agree that some "older" patrons may walk out in previews, though.

I have not seen the TV spot or the brochure (nor will I suspect will most tourists). But the website is pretty vague.

Calm your excitement. There is a huge bold warning on the final page before sale.

Ok so ... is this Oklahoma momsical material? My mom loves Oklahoma but prefers old fashioned G-rated productions with good singing and dancing. Is there anything that would make her go "whoa"?

Everything would make her go, "Whoa." It's not for her.

There is 1 $59 ticket left for the day I want to go. Curious about how they will stage this if there are any obstructions or if they will play mainly to one direction.  Was this an issue at St Anne’s?

At St. Ann's there were no partial view (although with seating only on either side of the stage area partial views could emerge at Circle). The actors played to both sides and didn't seem to focus on any particular area so I'm sure all seating is good, but the closer the better. Just what I remember though

"

There were partial view seats at St. Ann's due to a large support beam that was an obstruction, but I can't see that being an issue with those row K seats at CITS. Considering that the prices go up pretty significantly in the rows directly below, I think they're a great deal. Also, in my opinion, they didn't play to one side over the other.

I don't think this spot makes that clear at all. To me, it just looks like a spot a show would make to try to market an older musical to a younger audience, not necessarily that the material is being rethought or whatever.

"

There's another TV spot that they've been running which says, "reinvented for the 21st century."  If I were someone who enjoyed only traditional stagings of classic musicals, that line would make me do some research before I bought tickets. I think they're doing their best to inform people that this production is different from what many might expect, and it's not as if they're going to come right out and say, "If you're old-fashioned, you might not like this show."

Anyone that saw that production at St. Ann’s could talk about how Many a New Day and Out Of My Dreams are staged? There is no female ensemble so I was curious how the scenes with Laurie and her friends are handled.
