Out of curiosity, I just checked StubHub to see how much tickets were going for now for Ben's final performance this Sunday afternoon. At this point, the cheapest tickets you can find will cost you $889 each. Center orchestra tickets are on sale between $3500 and $9000 apiece. It will be interesting to follow this through Sunday afternoon to see if these prices go down (or up, for that matter.)

You have to check it very often to see what tickets are going for. All you can ever see at a specific moment is what sellers are asking... and once a ticket sells, there is no record of what price it was at that time.
That said, I just pretended to list tickets, and StubHub helps you price it accurately. Their recommendations for me saying I had row M, side orchestra seats was:
"Based on our data, tickets like yours sell between $2,050.00 and $6,663.00."
So, sounds like those prices aren't outlandish, people are buying them at those prices.

Yep. They might as well change the title of that performance to Dear Ben Platt. I'm guessing that the play will be completely lost within the hysteria.

I don't think anyone seeing the show at Ben Platt's final performance will be seeing it for the first time. Just a guess. But I agree that it would probably be insufferable crowdwise.
That being said, I'm hoping they do a Facebook Live like they did with Cynthia Erivo's final "I'm Here" at The Color Purple revival. I enjoyed Platt's performance so much at Second Stage and would love to see him again for a final song.
