New to this site.

Remembered this article from a bit ago.  Anyone know of the changes that will be made to the set, or if they are even that substantial and just downsized versions of everything that was on the most recent tour?

Probably just downsizing, mind you they downsized the current tour already so I dont know how small they can go.

They took out the raised back end of the stage a while back which was a shame. Perhaps other things like making some of the hard scenery soft (which they kinda did in the beginning with the 2 large tusks in the graveyard scene)

Maybe reconfigure the graveyard scene and stampede as I believe those are the largest/complex set pieces. The touring Priderock is actually somewhat easy to tour as it collapses in on itself.

I don't however think they can be as insane as to redesign the show

The last time I saw the tour it was already extremely bare bones and heavily scaled down from when I saw the tour before. I can't imagine what else they could possibly be taking out without just stripping the entire production out.

Wonder if we'll see a reduction in the number of cast.  Touring the wardrobe/puppets for this show is almost as cumbersome as the set!  All the larger animals come in the their own large road cases.

Some of the reconfiguration also has to do with both the automation and lighting packages. A lot of that can be done in a smaller footprint than was originally done because of the improvements in technology since the tour first went out, which of course saves a lot on truck space and load in time.
