It really isn't THAT bad.

I think a plain, purple curtain with a gold trim would have been strikingly simple, though. Kind of like the house curtain at the Lyceum.

I found the song list but don't know how to post the photo! Wow...they've clearly made some MASSIVE changes. A lot has been cut!

Does anyone have any info on this Golden Ticket business I've seen on Instagram and Twitter tonight? Certain audience members have them.

I'm also wondering, from anyone there tonight or going soon, if you can report on the view from the extreme side orchestra seats.

was expecting something "better" for the show curtain. I mean it really couldn't have been much worse, could it?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Can anyone describe or post what the West End curtain is.  (I'm too lazy to look for it right now…lol)

I's assuming the first thing to go is the video on how chocolate is made??

In the West End, there was a massive, arched proscenium and a black scrim with nothing on it. It was very clean and I think I probably prefer that look over this new drop.

I really like that curtain actually, it's different and sets up the story.

I'm so so excited to see this show.

I was there for the dress rehearsal and I hate to say it but the set and the production are super cheap. I was in shock the set has basic and the projections sad.

There first act is way to long. Show started at 1:34 we finished at 4:37.

The adult kids are fantastic, their songs are fun. The songs with Charlie and the grandparents are dreadful,

i hope they cut at least 20 min from the show.

Like i said before the production value is way below any Broadway show, the outside of the theater is more interesting that any set piece they bring for the factory. Costumes look dirt cheap.

I hope they work a lot during previews and make it better

Songs from the movie? How was Christian Borle and the Oompa Loompas?

This makes me sad. I knew this production would be different than the West End.

How was Christian. Please tell me he was at least good!

That's crazy to hear considering how spectacular the West End version looked.

Yeah. I saw the show in London, the only set they kept is the elevator for the final scene. Christian is fantastic, super super funny, sweet and sometimes creepy.

All the adult kids are inrecdible, Varuca Salt steals the show. Again the only downer was Charlie, and the set.

The only person to get a standing ovation was Christian.

The ommpa loompas have a different design, The Jim Henson company did the costume/puppets. They have a white outfit and orange wig. Very different from London, but it works.

How disappointing. I actually loved the London production. Just had some pacing issues but it did not feel cheap at all

Is the stage high for this? How are sight lines? Orchestra in the pit?

Stage is low. Pretty minimal. Not a bad seat in the house. Orchestra is in the pit.

How are the new songs -- and what is new since London bookwise?

I did not find the set pieces to be "cheap." Did I expect vibrant scenes to come down through the show? Yes. Did I mind the minimalistic design? Not at all. I think it really put the focus on on the actors. That's tough in such a large space though. I also don't think they are using projections in the same way as other shows relying on them in place of sets (im looking at you Anastasia) but rather to just enhance the scene and for special effects purposes.

I have to say I'm sort of disappointed at the sound of a "minimalistic" set for such an imaginative and potentially massive show. Hm.

Maybe modern is a better word to use? It didn't feel like an imaginative fairy land  - more like magic happening in a current context. American characters felt very modern too.
