I saw a Cypress College production over the weekend. Sure brought back memories! Got me pumped up more to see the movie

He was basically just praising the movie and said he hasn’t felt this way about a movie that features a largely Latinx cast since SELENA.

and he says that this movie has the most black latinx representation in a major movie he has seen and that they carefully curated this movie.

Carefully curated out of the main cast and into the background you mean...

I wouldn't say that.  At all.

Selena didn't turn their Hispanic and Mexican characters into caricatures.

I felt like the rough cut I saw of ITH did that a lot with the ancillary cast.

I hope they edit it well and reshoot a bit, because it could be an incredible film.

as great as this movie looks and as talented as the cast is, they should have cast more afro latinos. washington heights is a mostly black latinx neighborhood so to not have that many in the cast is disappointing. even if there is afro latinos in the movie, they are just gonna be in the background. we need afro latino representation in the fore front, not the background. amara la negra, christina milian, jharrel jerome, and mack wild wilds should have been cast in this. not having that many afro latinos in the cast is a missed opportunity for that type of representation imo.

Possible, of course, but most experts say things should be back to "normal" by late June given the higher ambient temperatures – the virus can't survive above about 80° F.

In the human body, the virus thrives because it uses our own cells to power and propagate itself.  Outside, it’s an inert thing subject to decay like other complex collections of molecules.

Actually, they are only hopeful about that, hoping the warmer weather diminishes the spread. Some people are saying worst case scenario is 6-8 months.

let’s pray that this coronavirus dies down by the summer so we can still have this movie released.

lin manuel said he hopes everything with the virus is over by the time the in the heights movie is out so we can watch it together and remember what it’s like to be together. this movie is literally about community and being together during hard times, overcoming them. It really is the perfect film to recover from this with.

the movie has been delayed and i am very bummed about it but this is for the best. once theaters reopen, this movie will be huge. it’s the perfect movie to reopen theaters with. i hope they don’t postpone it til next year. it should be released in august or september.

I really hope they can find a way to release this movie sometime during summer. maybe july or august. or even september. It sucks they had to push it back.

I think Warner Bros will wait and see when people start returning to the movie theatres. Psychologically, I think people may not want to sit next to strangers for a while. There’s no point in putting it in the theatres unless they think they can recoup their costs quickly. It’s anybody’s guess at this point.
