Two friends and I were going to be the Schuyler sisters (I was Angelica) but they dropped out so now I'm going as Wendla from Spring Awakening. Last year I was Hedwig, the year before that I was Carrie, and I was Elphaba a few years ago.
Two of the Fun Home kids are going as Alexander and Eliza Hamilton. Chris McCarrell a picture:
Mr. Nowack said: "I was the Phantom once in like 5th grade. Boy was I a gay child LOL.

i can only imagine if you had dressed up as Raoul!
The thing is, besides being an utter toad of a human being, Riedel usually has the least knowledge of the topic in the room. He doesn't usually understand the content or approach of a show, and is always completely and unfailingly socially ignorant, which makes it really infuriating when Susan can't get a word in edgewise. A definitive mansplainer; it's always painful when he has female guests. I watch the show sporadically when I really want to see a guest, because it's the only theatre talkshow we have, but it would be so much better without this hateful clown in a dadcoat. (thanks ScaryWarhol)
When I was 14, rather angsty, and absolutely obsessed with Sweeney Todd, I dressed up as Johanna. Nobody knew who she was, but I loved my blog wig and dress, and went around wanting to sing the whole time. Then, my voice teacher's husband heard about it and decided to serenade me with the song "Johanna." He was excellent, and it was a combination of wonderful, hilarious, and slightly embarrassing. My 14-year-old musical theater heart was very happy that night!
I've dressed up as the Phantom to give out candy. One year, my husband and I went to a costume party as the Phantom and Christine. I really got into it, and bought a cheap white nightgown and peignoir from Ebay. I must admit, a chunky Christine in her late 50's was a bit odd. At least my husband didn't try to sing -- not his strong point.
Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.
My friends and I are going as the Sun (in the sky), Father (godfather), and Holy Ghost. As the Holy Ghost, I am going to be the Phantom of the Opera, my favorite ghost, with holes in me.
My 15 year old was A. Ham, complete with a signed copy of The Federalist Papers and a ponytail.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
